Last Call ... to join the celebration

Okay, before I give the floor (or screen) to our last guest, I have to start by saying thank you to everyone who participated in this event.  As a new blogger, the overwhelming support I received from some very lovely ladies meant so much to me.  I truly do idolize these women, and see them as celebrities in their own right.  Every one of you, you better believe every time I get an interaction from you I do a dorky little fan girl dance.  It's not pretty, so I'll probably never share it, but know it happens.  (It's close to watching Elaine from Seinfeld dance.)  And now, after my little bit of gushing, without further ado, our 2nd giveaway of the day, and final of the celebration, is from the wonderful and talented Alannah Lynne.

However, Alannah was a little busy and couldn't stop by herself today, but she's put us in contact with some great proxies.  Because of this, I've decided today is liquid treat day, and I've asked none other than Sunny and Gavin from Last Call to share with us their preferred drink of choice on the Irish holiday.

For the coffee fanatics, Sunny's got ya covered y'all.  When you're celebrating with friends this weekend, make sure to mix up a tasty "Bailey's Irish Ice".

Bailey’s Irish Ice:

Ingredients:

·         1 ounce Bailey’s Irish Cream with a hint of Mint Chocolate

·         1 ounce Iced Coffee

·         1 cup of Chipped Ice

·         1 Tablespoon Espresso

·         2 scoops Guinness Gelato (If you can’t find/make this, coffee ice cream will work)

·         Mint Sprig and Whipped Cream for garnish

1. Add Baileys with a hint of Mint Chocolate, iced coffee, and Guinness gelato to a blender.

2. Blend on high with chip ice until smooth.

3. Pour into a chilled coupe, hurricane, or ice cream glass.

4. Top with espresso, a mint sprig, and whipped cream.

Or, for the more hardcore individuals, who believe St. Patrick's day is for individuals who love Jameson and bad decisions, Gavin's "Shamrocker" will help you forget the night.

The Shamrocker:

·         1 part Hornitos Plata Tequila

·         1 part DeKuyper Melon Liqueur

·         1/2 part triple sec

·         Splash of orange juice

1. Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.

2. Shake well.

3. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

4. Garnish with an orange slice.

Chelsea M. Cameron

Who recognizes this luscious and festive treat?  The St. Patrick's day inspired ice-cream equivalent to the famous 'McRib' sandwich?  My next guest surely does.  In typical fashion, I've asked Chelsea M. Cameron author of My Favorite Mistake and Deeper We Fall to share her favorite St. Patrick's day memory.  Taking time away from her current project, Faster We Fall, Chelsea has shared with us her love of this delectable fast food commodity.

When most people think of Saint Patrick's Day, they think of green beer, the Irish and pots of gold. I've never been much of a celebrator of the holiday, but there is one thing that comes along every Saint Patrick's Day that I celebrate the crap out of.

The Shamrock Shake. That electric green confection from McDonald's that shows up at the end of February and is only around for a fleeting time, but enough time for me to suck down more than a few of them.

For those of you not familiar with this treat, it's a vanilla/mint hybrid shake with whipped cream and a cherry on top. If you've never have one, STOP AND GO GET ONE RIGHT NOW. I'LL WAIT….

Now, I'm not a huge fan of mint, but the vanilla guts down on the harsh flavor, so it's more of an aftertaste. A little kick at the end of your sip and oh so delicious.

I don't know what they put in them, but probably at least some crack, because those things are addictive. I hear the siren song of the Shamrock Shake every time I drive by the McDonald's, which also happens to be twenty minutes from my house, which is a good thing. If it was closer, I'd drink one every day.

I have no idea what the nutrition facts are on this thing either, SO DON'T TELL ME. I DON'T WANT TO KNOW. Yes, I'm sure there are plenty of super bad things in it, but I just can't say no. There's just something about that electric green sweet and minty thing. It calls and I pick up. Every. Time.

If I were Taylor Swift, I would write a song about how I feel at the end of every April when the shake goes away and my pain at waiting for it to be available again the next year.

That's some serious love there, people.  Don't mess with a girl and her Shamrock Shake...it could get you written into a song - or a book.   And, since this short, non-endorsed advertisement only added to the level of enjoyment I get when reading Chelsea's writings, I'm assuming you all want more too.  So here's your chance.  Enter the Rafflecopter below, and on Sunday one lucky winner will get an eCopy of Deeper We Fall.  Good luck everyone!

Kallypso Masters giveaway

Author of the "Rescue Me" series Kallypso Masters has generously gifted us with our next giveaway - a complete set of her series to date in eBook format!  Taken from her website, here's a little more about the gifted writer :

Kallypso Masters writes emotional, realistic Romance novels with dominant males (for the most part) and the women who can bring them to their knees. She also has brought many readers to their knees—having them experience the stories right along with her characters in the Rescue Me series. Kally knows that Happily Ever After takes maintenance, so her couples don’t solve all their problems and disappear at “the end” of their Romance, but will continue to work on real problems in their relationships in later books in the series.

Kally has been writing full-time since May 2011, having quit her “day job” the month before. Masters at Arms was her debut novel (published in August 2011), followed by Nobody’s Angel, Nobody’s Hero, and Nobody’s Perfect. A change of plans for the series will make Somebody’s Angel, the continuation of Marc and Angelina’s romance, the next in line. “These two came up in the writing of Nobody’s Perfect and threw me for a huge loop with an issue Marc and I had no idea about before. They became a major distraction from Damián and Savannah’s story, so I decided to give them their own space to reach their Happily Ever After ending at last.” The storyline and time frame for Somebody’s Angel parallels the one in Nobody’s Perfect, which is why readers saw glimpses that there were some problems for the couple. But Damián has his hands full and wasn’t privy to all that was going on.

I haven't had a chance to complete this series myself yet, but you can bet they are on my TBR list as we speak!  Enter the Rafflecopter below, and maybe we'll get a chance to read them together :-)

Jennifer Probst

Today we're lucky enough to hear from the charming Jennifer Probst, best selling author of the Marriage to a Billionaire series - The Marriage Bargain, The Marriage Trap and The Marriage Mistake.  I've asked Jennifer to share a St. Patrick's day memory, and this is what she had to say.

A St. Patrick's Day Memory...

OK, even though I write Italian most of the time, I do own a quarter of Irish blood and I'm proud of it. What is it about St. Patty's day that has always intrigued me?

The complete focus and attention to having fun.

I don't think there's another day out there that comes close. Most other holidays incorporate some other element, whether it be presents, family gatherings, an Easter bunny, or fireworks. St. Patrick's Day caters to the crowd who knows how to party in the best possible format - the Irish way. Corned beef and cabbage. Beer. Laughter. Friends. Fun. Bars. Irish whiskey. Sad and drunken Irish songs. And more beer.

Does it get any better than that?

Alas, when I heard of this wonderful task to pen my fave memory on St. Patty's day, not much came to mind. I've never been to the big parade like my husband, or marched the streets of Manhattan in uniform, getting free drinks, meeting up with old friends, singing at the piano. I think the craziest I've ever gotten was the local parade where my son rode on the float, threw candy, and wore green. And I had a damn fun time!

SO...I'm stealing my husband's memory! One year he came home from work, donned his uniform, and headed down into Manhattan to meet thirty of his closest friends. He called me during his evening out while I watched my two boys, while I heard roars of laughter in the background, music, the clinking of glasses, and the lilt in my husband's voice. He was having a blast. He was in his element and enjoying every second, and that was what I remember most about the holiday - how much the day means to him, his friends, and his family.

Happy St. Patty's day everyone!

Jen

Even her personal writings are fun to read!  And to give you a bit more from this great lady, we are giving away a copy of her newest release, All The Way, to one lucky winner!

2nd Giveaway Alert : Calia Read "Every Which Way"

We have a very special edition to today's celebration!  We will be giving away a signed copy of Every Which Way by Calia Read.  If you haven't read this yet, it's a MUST!

Severine Blake has seen far too many friends taken down in the crossfires of dating. She devises a precise course of action to protect her heart. The plan is working very well...until she meets Thayer and Macsen.
When the Sloan brothers come into her life, nothing is the same.

Thayer is self-possessed, arrogant and used to getting what he wants. Being near him leaves Severine unsteady and shaken. He makes her question everything.
Macsen contradicts his brother in every way. His calm personality captivates her. Severine is drawn to him instantly.
But Severine quickly discovers that when you want something, that want can turn wicked. Giving in is not always easy, especially when your heart refuses to give up the fight.

What little illusion of love Severine has is soon destroyed. Every option is broken, and the protection she has built around her heart instantly crumbles.

There's just no right way with the Sloan brothers.
