HE’S A
HOLLYWOOD SUPERSTAR. SHE’S LITERALLY THE GIRL NEXT DOOR
BLURB:
Filming for my latest blockbuster takes
place on the coast of Maine and I’m determined to stay out of trouble. But
trouble finds me when I run into Lana Kelly.
She doesn’t recognize me, she’s never heard
of Matt Easton and my million dollar smile doesn’t work on her.
Ego shredded, I know I should keep my
distance, but when I realize she’s my neighbor I know I’m toast. There’s no way
I can resist temptation when it’s ten yards away.
She has a mouth designed for pleasure and
legs that will wrap perfectly around my waist.
She’s movie star beautiful and her body is
made to be mine.
Getting Lana Kelly into my bed is harder
than I’m used to. She’s not interested in the glitz and glamour of Hollywood,
but I’m determined to convince her the best place in the world is on the red
carpet, holding my hand.
I could have any woman in the world, but
all I want is the girl next door.

REVIEW:
Lana Kelly is living back in her hometown Worthington, Maine.
Five years ago, betrayal by her now ex-boyfriend had her running back to the
comfort and protection of the familiar. She left behind her best friend in New
York along with all her hopes and dreams of aspiring to create handmade and
hand designed jewelry for the rich and famous. Now being back in Maine, she
owns her own jewelry store, but still has fear of opening herself up to the
scrutiny of others. She has the reassurance of consistency and animosity from
others in her life now. Until a stranger comes to town. She rents out the small
cottage right next to hers and the new tenant is someone she should recognize,
but with her isolated lifestyle over the past 5 years, she fails to realize
that he is the up and coming Hollywood actor, Matt Easton. She’d promised
herself that she’d never put herself in a compromising position again to avoid
being hurt, but Matt is proving to be very difficult to resist and has her
feeling under the inspection of others again.
Matt Easton is trying to rebuild his reputation and prove to
the world that he is a reliable and accountable star. On the cusps of making it
big, he has all the scrutiny of the publics and media’s eyes. After making some
ill-advised decisions, he’s now trying to repair his career, so any kind of
scandal would be the breaking point for his newly budding livelihood. During
production of his latest film, he is staying in a quant town in Maine where he’s
hoping no one will recognize him and he can stay out of watchful eyes of others.
His agent has advised him to steer clear of any woman until after filming. He
thought that Worthington, Maine would be the right solution, but his feisty and
sexy new neighbor for the next six weeks proves it extra difficult to stay out
of trouble. His physical attraction to her isn’t the only thing that draws him
to her, the fact that she doesn’t appear to know who he is, is a major bonus
and quite frankly, a huge turn on, for him. The fact that she wants him for
HIM…Matt from Indiana, not, Matt Easton the rising star, makes her that much
more tempting and alluring. But there’s a slight issue, Matt has a secret that
could end this all before it starts. But he wants Lana fiercely and he knows
that she wants him as well. He knows he needs to tell her the truth because he
doesn’t want to lie to her. He wants her to know the REAL him, but will she
still look at him the same way once she knows who he is?
Once Lana learns WHO Matt really is, she has to deal with
the internal battle of wanting to continue her life in private and away from
prying eyes and gossip. Can their life together translate out of Maine and into
Hollywood or are they destined to be a “means to an end”? Can Lana risk the
scrutiny from the world again and put herself out there for a chance at love or
will it have her running again?
Hollywood actor and girl next door! Sign me up! I adored this story and characters from
beginning to end! Matt and his flirtatious fun personality and Lana with
her spirited, but yet reserved demeanor made for an entertaining read. Their
story was unique and not like any other I’ve read. It was exactly what I hoped
and expected from Louise’s novels and left me with a sappy smile on my face
when I finished reading it. It had serious moments, comical moments, and steamy
moments *wink*. Matt’s slightly dirty
side in the bedroom was the perfect added ingredient in their relationship. He
is all sweet and seductive in public and then he shows Lana the real him behind
closed doors. They’re the perfect complement to each other’s personalities.
Lana brings Matt back to his “roots” and Matt brings Lana out of her shell. All
in all, I was pleased with the storyline and how they got their HEA. Louise
Bay, yet again, wrote a beautiful story.
4.5 stars

About the Author:
USA Today bestselling author, Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance
novels - the kind she likes to read. Her books include the novels Faithful and
Hopeful and the novella series' The Empire State Series, What the Lightning
Sees and Calling Me. The novels and together the series are stand-alone
although there are some overlapping characters.
Ruined by romantic
mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There's not
enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books
and films.
Louise loves the rain, the West Wing, London, days when she doesn't have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.
