I have been Aleatha’d…again and I loved
every minute of it! Aleatha
Romig has surpassed ALL my hopes and dreams when it comes to this series.
Honestly, I couldn’t of fathomed where she was going to take this “dog and pony
show” (Alex’s words, not mine) and after completing the fifth and final novel,
I am utterly BLOWN AWAY by her meticulousness and storytelling. All the webs were unraveled. There was no
rock unturned. Everything fit seamlessly together. To spend a day in
Aleatha’s mind…man, I don’t know if I’d be able to decipher the code of
INFIDELTY. She is the mastermind with the blueprint and she executed it with
perfect precision. The way the Montague’s, Fitzgerald’s, Demetiri’s and
Spencer’s worlds collided at the end of this series was mind-boggling and a complete
adrenaline rush. No joke, my heartrate sped up in mere pages after starting
FIDELITY…I was thrown right back into this deceptive world for better or worse *wink*.
Just like the
other novels in the series, Aleatha has the ability to completely block out any
spare thinking capability. The completion of this series gave no leeway to
theory building…I was so utterly engrossed in the story and its characters,
that I had no ability to form my own theories and hypothesis at any point. I
was strictly living out the character’s lives through their chapters and POV’s.
It was as if I were a fly on the wall watching these twists and turns occur and
I could only go along with the motion. Aleatha achieved this with not only her
perfectly engineered world and storyline, but with her “mini cliffy’s” (as I
like to call them). At the end of each chapter, it was as if the reader was put
on a “commercial break”. With the multiple POV’s, you would end on one
character and possible jump to another. Sometimes you’d have to read several
POV’s/chapters to get back to that particular “mini cliffy”. This strategy left
you glued to the pages. It was just brilliant how Aleatha did that. I have
NEVER read another novel like this one, written in this type of style. I
absolutely LOVED it. It kept me craving more.
In this high
stakes game between love and duty, Alex has withstood betrayal, cunning,
deception, and entrapment…and all that is coming to a head in FIDELITY. What
will happen when she’s faced with the other side of the coin, fidelity? I am
not willing to give my summary of this final novel because I fear I will give
spoilers. Just trust me, BELIEVE me, when I tell you that this is the best book
in the series and Aleatha will NOT leave you unsatisfied. Batman will come to
his Princess’ rescue…but you’ll have to read to find out how it all pans out.
Between all the
twists, deceptions, revelations, planning, and sabotaging there was finally
happiness at the end of the dark tunnel. I plain and simply LOVED this series!
The characters were ridiculously multi-faceted and I mean that in best of way
possible. The characters put new meaning to “nothing is as it seems”. You truly
don’t know what you’re getting from each character until the very last page.
If you’re
looking for a compelling story that will grip you from the beginning and leave
you questioning EVERY person, EVERY moment, THIS is the series for you. I know
I will go back one and read it again with fresh and knowing eyes trying to
dissect it for its entirety.
With her hand on my chest, Charli said, "Whether you like to admit or not, you are Prince Charming." As Charli's breathing began to even, I whispered, "No, I'm not Prince Charming. I'm Batman."
