Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player—without getting played?

This is the story I've been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.

Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.

Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I'm the one discovering him...or if he's uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?

Kricket's Review

In a world where billionaire book boyfriends run rampant, Katy Evans throws her hat in the ring, and not only becomes a contender worthy of fear, but quite possibly takes the top spot.

Enter 27 year old Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint - the sexy, spoiled, sometimes aloof trust-fund baby turned entrepreneur.  Chicago's most intriguing billionaire playboy, the world is watching his every move.  Saint is no stranger to the media, though, and over the years has become impervious to public scrutiny.  He also appears to be immune to commitment as well.  Until now, the only semblance of it in his life has been with his work and the bro-mance he shares with Callan Carmichael and Tahoe Roth.

That is, until Rachel Livingston.  The reporter tasked to release an in-depth expose on the man who has maintained his own personal brand of mystery for so many years.
I am in love with stories.  How they shape our lives.  How they mark people who don't even know us.  How they can impact us even when an event didn't exactly occur in our own lives.

She has no idea the hurricane she is walking into, though.  Her world is about to be turned upside down, in the best way possible.  Rachel hasn't had it easy, but she's definitely naive in a way that we can all appreciate.  In a way that she's chosen.  Don't get me wrong, Rachel is not another virgin sent to interview the sexual connoisseur.  She has real world experience, she's a bit jaded by real life, but by no means has she ever been exposed to a man of Saint's caliber.

Rachel has moxie, though.  She is not a foregone conclusion the minute she sets eyes on the oh-so-sexy-Saint.  She's content allowing him in her mind, but she refuses to be yet another notch on his thousand dollar bed post.  At least in the beginning.

Find a guy who can love you like crazy and love him right back.  What's the worst thing that can happen?

As with all Katy Evans' novels, a good heroine is not without her own support group.  Rachel's entourage is comprised of "Succulent Gina", the bitter man-eater, and the nurturing Wynn, who is all "Team Feelings".  The two women act as the devil and angel on Rachel's shoulder.  Wynn encourages Rachel to open herself up, believing that to have loved and lost is better than to have never loved at all.  Gina on the other hand has been burned by that philosophy, and refuses to believe that there is anything worse than that brand of heart break.

This is the world of romance, though, and we know that Rachel is going to follow her own path regardless of those pesky shoulder dwellers.  Manwhore give us everything we look for in a story worthy of a book hangover.  We're treated to witty banter, earth-shattering sex, internal struggle, and even a touch of external angst.  I couldn't have asked for more from the first installment of this series.

Interview

As an extra little treat, please welcome Katy Evans herself - New York Times Bestselling Author and creator of epic book boyfriends Remington Tate, Greyson King, McKenna Jones, and now Malcolm Saint!

Hey Kricket! Thanks so much for having me over today!

Okay, to get things started, I have a few personal questions…

What is(are) your favorite color(s)?

Hot pink & yellow

What is your favorite food?

Dark chocolate

You, my friend, have excellent taste.

Do you have any release day traditions?

Celebrating for sure – dinner sometimes, or a movie, or a small get-together with friends and family.

Now that we know how we will help you celebrate (I'll be wearing my hot pink t-shirt and eating an incredibly large bar of dark chocolate), we'll get on to the REALLY good stuff.

First, I need to know, do you gather your character inspiration from people in your real life?

Maybe subconsciously I might pick up a few quirks or two, or themes and interests. But generally, my characters are completely fiction, even though some might possess qualities that I admire and people I know.

When did you know you wanted to share your stories with the masses?

I began where I'm sure most authors begin, which is as a reader. A very eager reader. All my life I've had a fierce imagination and when I was little, I loved to play on my own. My mother claims she's never met a little girl who entertained herself for so long the way I did. She didn't understand that I "seemed" alone, but with such an imagination, you're never alone. Ever.

(That's an excellent point.  I now have high hopes for my own "loner" children.  ;-) )

When I finally turned 12, I found my true calling when I became addicted to the Sweet Valley High books. As I closed the pages of my very first one, it struck me that all I wanted was to be a writer and share my own characters and stories with others.

And we are so, so glad you decided to take that path.  <3

I have a serious obsession with names.  Can you tell us why Manwhore has so many of them, or will that be spoiling part of the book?

That’s a great question and I hope to be attacking it in book 2. But I can say that it has to do with his very rich family, on his mother’s side.

For those who haven't gotten their hands on Malcolm, tell us: Is Manwhore going to be a whole lot different from your REAL series, or will we see similarities in some characters and storylines?

Manwhore is different than Real, it's a little bit more modern, focused more on the 'real' world and a modern woman's attempt to balance everything that she wants in her life - a career, her friends, her family, her fun time, and surprisingly, the fact that she's found love in the most unexpected place. The similarities between them would probably be the connection between the hero and heroine. As in all my books, the hero and heroine's connection is palpable and powerful, the kind that makes you hold your breath. I still LOVE every minute I spend with Malcolm and Rachel as I write their sequel now!

That is an awesome way to describe their connection, and the connection of your other couples!

What made you want to write Manwhore

I was looking for ideas for my new series when I went to a signing in Chicago, and a very handsome playboy and his gazillion followers on social media being mentioned on TV. I didn't catch his name but I was so intrigued I couldn't stop wondering about him. Then, Malcolm Saint appeared, giving a full-bodied story to my musings as he simply took over me.
So you're saying, there's a chance he's really out there?  DIBS!

Now, I don't want to give too much away about Manwhore, so I'm going to venture off topic a little bit here.

I know it’s not fair to ask who a favorite character is, so instead I’m going to ask which of your characters you relate to most.  Personally, I am pretty sure I related best to Melanie, right down to wearing at least 3 colors at once.

Go, you! I love knowing that you relate to Melanie, she’s so full of life. Let’s be friends, okay? :)

More than okay!  In fact, I insist.  ;-)

As for myself, I relate extremely well to all my heroines. I love them all, dearly and deeply, and I can easily step into each of their shoes and feel exactly like they do, and understand why, exactly, they think the way they do. But usually the one I most relate to is the one I’m currently working on. When I step into her shoes, I’m almost absorbed by her for the duration of the story, and I can always find a thousand things in her that I feel connected to. So for now, I’ll go with Rachel from Manwhore and Manwhore +1. She’s a writer, too (well, a journalist) and she has so many qualities that I love.

Last, but definitely not least, can you give any details on book 6 of the REAL series?

I wish I could share more, but it’s still in a brainstorming stage so I can't say much yet. All I can definitely say is that I look forward to checking back on Remy, Brooke, and the gang and I hope readers look forward to checking up on them too. :)

And there you go breaking my heart again!  I'll forgive it, though, because you always mend it so well.  Thanks so much for stopping by and chatting with me.  I can't wait to hear more from Rachel and Malcolm, and see where your gifted little mind is taking us!
